1. TWO KILLED AND SEVEN MALAYSIANS INJURED AMONG 22 TOURIST IN LOMBOK EARTHQUAKE
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the Malaysian Embassy in Jakarta has received reports that two Malaysian citizens were killed while seven other Malaysian citizens were seriously injured in the 5.8 Richter scale earthquake incident that struck East Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia yesterday.
The two Malaysians killed in one of two earthquakes strike in Lombok, Indonesia on Sunday have been identified as Deputy Executive Editor In Chief of Sin Chew Daily, Datin Tai Siew Kim and Madam Lim Sai Wah . The Foreign Ministry confirmed Datin Tai’s and Madam Lim’s death via the Malaysian Embassy in Jakarta. According to latest information, scores of people were seriously injured while almost 500 homes were destroyed .
According to Wisma Putra the six other Malaysians injured in the earth quake, are being treated at a hospital on the island.
