1. RON97 Up One Cent
The price of RON97 will go up one sen this week, bringing the price of the fuel to RM2.68 per litre
which will take place at midnight, tonight.
Finance Ministry in a statement said today, the price of both RON95 and diesel will remain
unchanged, at RM2.08 per litre and RM2.18 per litre, respectively.
The ministry added this was an increase from the previous week at RM2.37 per litre for RON95 and
RM2.27 per litre for diesel.
2. Ex-Catalan Leader Has No Immunity
Spain’s Supreme Court says that an investigating judge is telling Belgian judicial authorities that
former Catalan regional president Carles Puigdemont possesses no parliamentary immunity that
might prevent his extradition to Spain.
A court statement says Belgian authorities asked for clarification on the matter early Friday.
Puigdemont is sought by Spain on possible charges of sedition and misuse of public funds.
3. Protests Over Proposed Taxes Escalate
Demonstrators in Lebanon are blocking major roads across the country in a second day of protests
against proposed new taxes, which come amid a severe economic crisis.
Hundreds of people burned tires on highways and intersections Friday, sending up clouds of black
smoke in scattered protests.
They were sparked when the government announced plans for new taxes on such items as voice calls
made through messaging applications, including Whatsapp.
