1. RM10,000 ALLOCATION FOR DRAIN EXPANSION IN KAMPUNG TABUAN SELIPAR PUTUS CEMERLANG
KUCHING: Minister of Entrepreneur Development & Cooperatives, Dato Sri Dr. Hj Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar revealed that RM10,000 would be allocated for a drain expansion project in Kampung Tabuan Selipar Putus Cemerlang which covers the drainage in the village to the main road.
He who is also Santubong Member of Parliament, said the village is a flood-prone area where he had called for counselors and village leaders to come up with a plan to clean up the drains to avoid the risk of flooding and to enable smooth drainage.
He added that in his parliamentary constituency only, 5 mosque projects have been delayed since 2018 with a total allocation of RM15 Million.
He stressed that the project’s implementation would depend on the Public Works Department (JKR) who also requires the appropriate standard operating procedures for each project.
2. PUBLIC CAN APPEAL FOR BPN THIS WEEKEND
KUCHING: The public can make appeals for Bantuan Prihatin Nasional (BPN) at various Inland Revenue Board (LHDN) branches this weekend, on May 30 and 31.
According to a statement, LHDN said appeal counters will be in operation from 8am to 4pm during the two days, except for Sabah and Labuan which will be observing public holidays, and will open on June 2.
LHDN said the appeal counters are to ensure that individuals who are eligible for BPN assistance were not left out.
3. PKR SELANGAU COMMITTEE MEMBERS EXIT PARTY
SIBU: Committee members of Parti Keadilan Rakyat Selangau branch yesterday announced their resignations from the party effective immediately.
They include deputy branch chief Simon Joseph, secretary Mathew Vanyui, vice-chairman Ambrose Kilang, committee members Jimbai Agan, Sam Mawan, Banyang Tedong, Sengiang Jalai and Ambon Ladon, Sibentik sub-branch chief Muhd Ensali, Sekuau branch women wing committee member Lily Anem and Sekuau sub-branch women wing committee members Sati Banta and Theresa Gumbek.
The group said the decision was made in full support of Selangau MP Baru Bian, whom they claimed had been unfairly and unjustly treated by PKR president Anwar Ibrahim.
