1. OVER 11, 000 ENLIVEN 2019 SARAWAK MAULIDUR RASUL CELEBRATIONS
More than 11, 000 participants attended this year’s state level Maulidur Rasul celebration ceremony.
With the theme “Ummah Gemilang”, the parade and banner competitions are held in 10 categories.
A total of 279 contingents are represented by government agencies, statutory bodies, private firms, mosque and surau committees, Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK), institutes of higher learning, schools, special non-muslim contingents, among others.
The ceremony was officiated by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari Tun Abang Haji Openg.
2. MAULIDUR RASUL CELEBRATIONS STRENGTHEN RACIAL UNITY IN SARAWAK
The gathering of Muslims in conjunction with the 2019 Maulidur Rasul celebration throughout Sarawak not only commemorates the struggle of Prophet Muhammad, but also the best ground to unite the Muslim and non-Muslim community.
Sibuti Member of Parliament Lukanisman bin Awang Sauni said in line with the multi-racial community in Sarawak, it is important for Muslims and non-Muslims to unite for the sake of mutual well-being.
He said this in his speech at the Miri Division Maulidur Rasul Celebration in Dewan Suarah Miri yesterday.
At the event, the Lukanisman announced an allocation of 10,000 Ringgit for Islamic activities in Miri.
3. PHASE 8 RABIES OPERATION MIRI-SUBIS BEGINS 10 TO 20 NOVEMBER
Several Sarawak government agencies, together with the Sarawak Health Department, Veterinary Services Department, Miri Municipal Council, Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) and other agencies will work together to combat the rabies outbreak.
According to Miri District Office officer Edward anak Tawang, the operation will runr from 10 to 20 November 2019.
He said this at the recent Phase 8 Miri and Subis Rabies Ops Meeting.
Meanwhile, Miri Division Chief of Veterinary Services Dr Sylmie Al-Harir asked the community to take action to curb the spread of Rabies.
In addition, dog owners are also required to bring their dogs to the nearest Veterinary Office or any private veterinary clinic for Anti-Rabies immunization shots.
