1. NO ALLOWANCES FOR MPKKP NEXT YEAR
Minister Of Works Baru Bian revealed that there will be no payment of allowances allocated when Federal Village Community Management Council (MPKKPs) are established next year.
He added the Pakatan Harapan Government will not continue the payment of allowances and salaries of all village headmen and chieftains in Sarawak next year.
He said this in a press conference at the Sarawak Legislative Assembly Complex today.
2. MPKKP MANIPULATES PEOPLE FOR POLITICAL AIMS
The Village Development and Security Committees (JKKK) have been in existence in Sarawak for many years.
Meradong assemblyman Datuk Ding Kuong Hing opined that JKKK have performed their roles and duties with flying colours to ensure the safety, unity and prosperity of villages and longhouses.
He said that the introduction of the Federal Village Community Management Council (MPKKP) is an ill intention to manipulate people for political aims where most of the Committee members appointed must be members of Pakatan component parties.
Whereas the committee members of JKKK, he said were chosen through democratic elections.
3. MPKKP WILL THREATEN RACIAL HARMONY
As the chinese saying goes, One Mountain Cannot Fit Two Tigers.
Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii expressed his concern that the formation of Federal Village Community Management Councils (MPKKPs) will only threaten the racial harmony in Sarawak.
Instead of introducing the MPKKPs into villages and longhouses in Sarawak, he who is Repok assemblyman raised concerns over road connectivity, clean water and low cost housing in his constituency.
He urged the Work Ministry to consider upgrading Jalan Pasi – Tanjung Manis road which was approved by Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.
