
MESTR To Increase TVET Programmes Throughout Sarawak
KUCHING: The Ministry Of Education, Science and Technological Research MESTR will increase the number of TVET programmes in Sarawak.
Its Minister Dato’ Sri Michael Manyin said, his ministry will continue to work with all TVET institutions and other agencies such as skills development department (JPK), TVET promoters such as Tegas and Sarawak Timber industry development corporation (STIDC) to organize more such programmes in the future.
Manyin added, there are already a number of TVET institutions in and around Sibu includes Kolej Vokasional Sibu, Pusat Giat Mara, Sarawak Maritime Academy, Pelita Maslaut, Kolej ITA, Rimbunan Hijau Academy and Kolej Komuniti Sibu.
TVET institutions and vocational schools need to be developed in areas that are close to industries and College of Smart Agriculture (COSA) which will be operated by CENTEXS and it is being developed in Mukah and scheduled to begin operations in 2020.
