KUCHING: Sarawak Trade and Tourism Office Singapore (STATOS) in collaboration with the Singapore Business Federation (SBF) successfully held its first Business Matchmaking & Mini Expo 2019 yesterday.
The business matchmaking and mini expo, which was held in conjunction with SBF’s business mission to Sarawak, saw the participation of 32 companies from Sarawak and 28 delegates from Singapore.
Aiming to promote unique products of Sarawak, Statos’ chief executive officer Chew Chang Guan as quoted in Borneo Post said, the expo helped showcasing these interesting products that are capable of being marketed in Singapore and internationally.
Chew further left advice to the local companies who wish to attract more Singaporean investments to talk to relevant ministries or Statos whenever their products are ready for export and offered to help them link with the relevant buyers in Singapore and other countries.
However, he noted that while Sarawak’s companies have a lot of interesting products, it still needs to ensure that it has the quantity to export and are able to fulfill export standards in Singapore.
