KUALA LUMPUR: About 11 to 12 per cent of service revenue will be allocated by Digi.com Bhd (Digi) for capital expenditure (capex) this year with the majority of it to be utilized for network enhancement and digitization of services.
Quoting Chief financial officer Inger Gloersen Folkeson, Bernama says, the company would sustain its service revenue at FY18 level which stood at RM5.92 billion and low single-digit growth of earnings before interest and taxes on its outlook for FY19.
She said, for the first quarter, Digi had invested RM186 million in capex, for its information and technology and network capacity upgrade, fibre network expansion and deployment of network function virtualization.
Meanwhile, chief technology officer, Kesavan Sivabalan as quoted also in Bernama said, Digi’s 4G network penetration has reached 89 per cent and will continue to be expanded and maintained its quality.
However, Kesavan said, no allocation of investment figures has been disbursed just yet on its 5G network as it would take a few more years to fully realize the technology.
