- COLLAPSED ROAD NEARLY CUTS OFF ACCESS TO TWO LONGHOUSES IN SPAK
Parts of a road in Spak near Betong collapsed last Sunday, nearly cutting off access to two longhouses.
Following an emergency call, members of the Betong District Civil Defence Force (APM) were despatched to the site.
The road is believed to have collapsed after it was struck by a landslide which was triggered by heavy rain and strong river currents. They also found that the blocked drainage aggravated the situation.
Although the residents of Rumah Mupuh Baroh and Rumah Mupuh Atas could still travel along the unaffected parts of the main road, the structure of the road remains unstable due to movements in the ground and the whole stretch could collapse at any time.
