KUALA LUMPUR: LTE body-worn camera – the VM780 by Hytera captures HD videos to provide evidence for trial.
The body-worn cameras have been used among law enforcement agencies for better accountability between the police officers and civilians as the need for enforcement transparency is currently increasing.
According to the statement quoted in Bernama, the body-worn cameras can also act as a deterrent against the misuse of force by police officers and violent behaviour of citizens, by exposing bad or good behaviours.
The camera can also send live videos back to the control centre over a 4G network to aid the dispatcher with what is happening, enhance real-time situational awareness, and facilitate decision-making.
One of the most notable features is the 216-degree rotatable HD camera to allow users to adjust the angle and capture pictures or videos in an optimal view without removing the camera from the gear.
Equipped with a 3,500 mAh battery, the camera supports up to nine hours of continuous recording, offering a 64 GB/128 GB storage capacity – equivalent to 40/80 hours of recorded footages.
The camera offers a wide range of accessories including belt clip, power adapter, USB earphone and data cable to fit different situations.
