Tuesday was the court-ordered deadline for the Trump administration to reunite parents and children under five, who were separated at the Mexican border by immigration authorities. The White House admitted only a fraction of the families would be placed back together in time. The federal judge who ordered the reunifications did not accept the government’s justifications for the delay.
