KUALA LUMPUR: The ringgit opened lower against the US dollar in the early trading session on Wednesday, on news tha US President Donald Trump is set to impose a new 10 per cent tariff on a list of US$200 billion worth of Chinese imports, a dealer said.

At 9am, the ringgit was quoted at 4.0320/0350 against the US dollar compared with 4.0200/02504 recorded at Tuesday’s close.
