Official results show, Mahathir’s opposition alliance won 121 seats, passing the threshold of 112 needed to form a government. It marks a landmark shift in power, ending the 60-year rule of Prime Minister Najib Razak’s National Front party. Mahathir will be sworn in later Thursday and at age 92, will become the eldest elected leader in the world.
