KUCHING: Sama Jaya High Tech Park augurs well with Sarawak’s Digital Economy initiative where the State Government would like to move its industrial sector towards Industry 4.0, powering its economic growth.
Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Zohari Tun Abang Haji Openg said, the State’s manufacturing sector must move towards smart manufacturing, employing robotics and automation to remain competitive in the increasingly challenging business environment.
He added, the Government is also serious in developing human talents by setting up a Digital Village in Sama Jaya and incubators throughout the State to nurture creativity, innovation and technopreneurships to drive Sarawak towards the high income economy through digital economy platforms.
He said this in his speech during the official launching of LONGi (Kuching) Sdn Bhd at the Sama Jaya High Tech Park here.
He further said, the State Government will continue with its business friendly policies towards investments, both Foreign Direct Investment and Domestic Direct Investment.
Meanwhile, Minister for Industrial and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hassan in his opening remarks said, by year end, LONGi is expected to hit total exports of RM4.5 billion when it goes into full production as in 2017, it had reached RM3.2 billion.
He also assures that his ministry will continue to enhance Sama Jaya High Tech Park so that it will be able to be transformed into a catalyst for industries to move towards industry 4.0, in line with Sarawak’s Digital Economy Initiative.
