Myanmar’s army has denied all reports on organized mass rape and other crimes by its forces against Rohingya Muslims in the country’s Rakhine state. The army said its internal probe has found nothing wrong in troops’ treatment of the Muslim minority. A UN special representative said, after a weekend visit to Myanmar, that the army is using rape, among other crimes, as QUOTE a weapon of genocide. Meanwhile, U-N Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, called on Myanmar’s government to allow the refugees to return home. The violence against the Muslim population in the country has forced more than 600-thousand people to flee to Bangladesh. Numerous witness accounts point to prevalent rape, murder, and torture of the Rohingya by the military as well as radical Buddhists.
