Thousands of runners in Lebanon’s annual marathon have expressed solidarity with Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri, who resigned last week in a televised speech from the Saudi capital, Riyadh. The race turned into a political rally, with many of the runners calling for the return of Hariri, who has not publicly spoken since unexpectedly announcing his resignation. The move has plunged Lebanon into political chaos, but on Sunday, on the streets of Beirut, there was a show of unification.
