Video footage emerged from the Bani Zaid district of Aleppo, Thursday, showing the discovery of a large cache of foreign-made weapons and missiles, found in a house in territory controlled by ISIL.

It is believed that the western-made weapons were left behind by militants from the Jabhat Fateh al-Sham (formerly Jabhat al-Nusra) militant group. Most of the weapons appear to be of US origin, as well as from Germany and the Czech Republic. Among the items are mortars, guided missiles and also American TOW (Tube-launched, Optically-tracked, Wire-guided) anti-tank missile systems.

A number of countries including the Syrian government and Russia objected to some countries offering weapons to the rebels fighting against Syria. Moscow in particular cited the danger that they could fall into the wrong hands.
